OBITUARY: RENNIE -- At his home on the slough road one mile south of Salem, Monday, March 19, 1894, James Rennie, aged 67 years. Mr. Rennie's death was sudden and is supposed to have been caused by a paralytic stroke. He was born in Scotland in 1827 and in 1849 came to California from London. In 1865 he removed to Oregon and has been a resident of Marion county since. He was the father of Mrs. Jacob Ashenfelter of Burns, Harney county; Albert, Oscar, and Lottie Rennie of Salem, and Louis Rennie of San Francisco. Oregon Statesman 20 Mar 1894 4:5
