OBITUARY:
AT REST--John Rice, the genial, pleasant typo of South Salem, peacefully sunk to rest on Sabbath morning last, at the home of his father, after an illness of many months. "Johnny," as he was familiarly called, was a generous, largehearted young man, much beloved by his acquaintances. He leaves a wife and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn his early demise. The funeral took place from the South Salem Church on yesterday afternoon, Revs. P.S. Knight and W. S. Harrington officiating, in the presence of a large congregation of sympathizing friends, and the remains were laid to rest by the loving hands of brother typos and United Workmen, of which order he was a member.
