NOTES: 
Herbert Charles Beard and Hester Fry were married on July 21, 1889 in St. Charles Church, Llanworms, Glamorgan, Wales. He and Hester and their children immigrated from Liverpool, England to Boston, Massachusettes on board the "Ivernia" arriving Aug. 5, 1902. He and Hester were naturalized at Malad City, Idaho on June 29, 1908. He and his family appeared in the 1910 and 1920 censuses of Malad City.

OBITUARY: 
Herbert Charles Beard, 69, late resident of Washougal, Washington, at the residence January 3. Survived by widow, Mrs. Nan Beard of Washougal; two daughters, Mrs. Florence Thorpe of Logan, Utah, and Mrs. Eleanor Illum of Malad, Idaho; three sons, Ralph and William of Salem and Victor of Washougal; 17 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held from Walker and Howell chapel Tuesday, January 6, at 2 p.m. Interment in IOOF cemetery. Rev. W. Irvin Williams will officiate.
