OBITUARY: 

W. F. Ritchie is taken by death.
Father of J. W. Ritchie passes away after period of failing health.
William Franklin Ritchie passed away at the home of his son, J. W. Ritchie, Fourth and Locusts streets, at 10 o'clock last night. He was 72 years and 6 months old and has been in failing health for several weeks.
He leaves beside his son, a daughter, Nora Belle Ritchie. J. W. Ritchie is general agent in Salem for the Spokane, Portland and Seattle lines and the Oregon Electric railway.
Mr. Ritchie was born in West Virginia, October 18, 1842, and when 13 years old moved with his family by wagon to Fort Scott, Kansas. A few months later his father died and the family then went to Illinois. He came to Salem 11 years ago. He was married December 27, 1866, to Catherine McFee. There were nine children born to them of whom only the two survive. Funeral arrangements are to be announced later.
