BIOGRAPHICAL: From - History of the Bench and Bar in Oregon, p. 214 (photo) Residence, 746 Lovejoy street; office 1105 Wells Fargo building, Portland. Born July 27 1873, eight miles west of Salem, Oregon. Son of J. H. and Mary Margaret (Harvey) Robbins. Married March 6, 1901 to Edyth Grace Savage. Educated in public schools of Portland; at the Portland Business College, from which he graduated in 1896, at Willamette University Law School, Salem, Oregon, from which he graduated in 1898 with LL.B. degree, after which he took a post-graduate course at Stanford University. Admitted to the bar at Salem on March 17, 1898. Located at Fossil, Oregon and practiced there from 1899 to 1902, during which time he was Deputy District Attorney for Seventh Judicial District. Has been with W. W. Cotton, General Attorney for O. R. & N., since 1905. Member University Club. Republican.

WILLIAM A ROBBINS DIES. SALEM NATIVE PROMINENT ATTORNEY HERE. 
Funeral Services Will Be Held Tomorrow Morning; Widow, Brother, Sister Survive. 
William Arthur Robbins, general attorney for the O. W. R. & N. company and one of the most prominent lawyers of the northwest, died in a Portland hospital yesterday after an illness of several months. Funeral services will be held from Finley & Son chapel, Fifth and Montgomery streets, tomorrow at 10 A. M., and burial will be in Odd Fellows' cemetery at Salem. Active pallbearers will be George W. McMath, H. E. Lounsbury, O. G. Edwards, John F. Reilly, Daniel Kenney and B. C. Wilson. Born in Salem, July 27, 1873, Mr. Robbins attended the Portland public schools and received his law training at Willamette university, where he obtained an LL. B. degree, and at Stanford university. He was admitted to the Oregon bar in 1898 and served as chief clerk of the Oregon house of representatives during the legislative sessions of 1899 and 1901. He later was deputy district attorney of Wheeler county. He entered the law department of the O. W. R. & N. company in 1904 and was appointed attorney-general in 1927. He was a recognized authority on laws pertaining to rates and traffic problems and regulations. Mr. Robbins was an active member of the Masonic lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, past president of the Progressive Business Men's club and a member of the Transportation club and the Chamber of Commerce. The family residence is at 280 Cornell road. Besides the widow, Mr. Robbins is survived by a sister Mrs. Stella Gillespie, and a brother, Grant Robbins, both of this city.
