Mrs. O. G. Savage, who departed this life at her home in this city at 1:45 o'clock yesterday morning, was born at Mazeppa, Minnesota, on August 20 1855, her maiden name being Rhoda Cornish.
She became a member of the Methodist Episcopal church at the age of 19 years and was a constant worker in that Christian field. She was a great sufferer for many years with spinal disease. At Salem, on May 25, 1891, she became the wife of O. G. Savage, and he, with her parents and eleven sisters and brothers, survive her. Mrs A. L. Pearson is the only sister residing in Salem.

At the family home, corner of Front and Union streets, at 1:45 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, 1897, Mrs. O. G. Savage, aged 41 years, of congestion of the spine.
At the age of 19 she united with the M. E. church and has endeared herself to all by her consistent life. Although a great sufferer for years with spinal disease, she was always patient, and her first thought was for others.
On May 25, 1891, she was married to O. G. Savage, who survives her.
The mother, Mrs. M. J. Cornish and a sister, Mrs. A. L. Pearson, both of Salem, survive the deceased, also three brothers and eight sisters all of whom reside in the eastern states. Her father, Mrs. Cornish, is at present residing in Southern Nebraska.
Funeral arrangements have not been positively decided upon, but it is quite likely they will be held from the residence at 2 p.m. Friday, conducted by Rev. Geo. W. Grannis. Interment will be had in the I. O. O. F. cemetery.
