OBITUARY: Old Resident Claimed by Spanish Influenza.
Influenza claimed one of Salem’s old residents, Mrs. M. R. Savage, at her home on Market street at 9:05 Sunday morning. Mrs. Savage came to Salem by way of the Isthmus of Panama in 1865. The same year, in November, she was married. Mr. Savage had come to Salem, in 1846. The deceased leaves her husband and seven children, Towner, who lives in California, Mrs. Eisle, Lundy, James, Douglas, Mrs. Cora Harber, Lloyd, all of Salem, and Frank of Prineville. Funeral services will be conducted from Rigdon’s parlors this afternoon at two o’clock.
