OBITUARY: 
Mrs. Scharf Dies, Of Pioneer Family.
Word was received in Salem, Thursday of the death in Portland of Mrs. Francis Smith Scharf, a decendant of the pioneer Thomas Cox family of Salem. She was about 60 years old. Mrs. Scharf, who is survived by the widower, was born and raised in Salem, leaving here about 30 years ago.

Francis Smith Scharf, late resident of Portland, in that city, July 5. Survived by husband, Ralph L. Scharf, Portland, nephew of Russell Smith of Salem. Private graveside services will be held Monday, July 9 at 10:30 a. m. at the I. O. O. F. cemetery, under the direction of the W. T. Rigdon Co.
