OBITUARY: SCRIBER--Austin Leonard Scriber, late resident of 1415 Mississippi St., Eugene, June 18, at Drain, at the age of 59. Survived by cousins, Miss Nellie Clark and Max Scriber, both of Salem, Mrs. Virginia Scherf, Newberg; also other cousins. Private services will be held Saturday, June 20 at 3 p.m. in W. T. Rigdon Chapel with interment at Salem Pioneer Cemetery.

SERVICES FOR A. L. SCRIBER HELD THURSDAY. Private funeral services for austin Leonard Scriber, 59, grandson of early Salem pioneer C. W. Scriber, who died Thursday in Drain following a heart attack, were held Saturday at 3 p.m. in the W. T. Rigdon Chapel. Interment was at Salem Pioneer Cemetery. A carpenter, Scriber made his home recently in Eugene. He was born Dec. 11, 1893 in LaGrande. His father, J. W. Scriber, was a banker there and later farmed the Scriber donation land claim in the Waldo Hills east of Salem. The deceasedÂ’s grandfather came to Oregon in 1848 and ran a blacksmith’s shop in Salem. Scriber was a veteran of World War I and served overseas. Surviving are several cousins, including Mrs. Virginia Scherf, Newberg.
