NOTES:
IOOF Register of Burials: Jacob Ringle, male, age 82, buried 29 May 1893 in Lot #291, d. at Poor Farm of "peralicis". DEED TO THE COUNTY -- John Jacob Ringel, a single man 80 years of age, who had forty acres of land near the Santiam between Stayton and Mehama, was found on the floor of his cabin helpless by a neighbor a few weeks ago. The neighbor, B. Bettingheimer, cared for the aged invalid and took steps to have him properly attended to by the county. He was transferred to the county poor house about two weeks ago and became so well pleased with his treatment there that he declared his willingness to deed his property to the county for support during the remainder of his life. He has no relatives that he knows anything of. As his condition is such that he is a county charge anyway and is likely to remain such as long as he lives it was deemed best to accept his offer and last evening Judge Hubbard went out to the poor house and had the deed properly executed by the old man. The property is said to be worth $250. Ringel is a German and communication with him is only through an interpreter. His ailment is paralysis.
