OBITUARY: 
TILLAMOOK -- Former Mid-Willamette Valley resident Blanche Gaines, 93, died Saturday in a Tillamook nursing home. She was born in Iowa. She lived in Lincoln City for many years. She moved to Salem in 1951, to Portland in 1958 and to Tillamook in 1970. She was a member of Royal Neighbor Lodge, and Rebekah Lodge, both of Lincoln City. 
Her husband Wilbur W. Gaines, who preceded her in death, was a descendant of Oregon Territorial Governor John Pollard Gaines. She was a member of First Methodist Church. 
Survivors include daughter, Margaret Reed, Tillamook; sister, Vera Haroun, Portland; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Virgil T. Golden mortuary, Salem. Interment follows at Pioneer Cemetery, Salem. Arrangements are under the direction of Hartman, Lundberg & Son mortuary, Tillamook.
