Clayton E. ‘Gramps’ Foreman
March 28, 1908- May 18, 1995
Clayton E. Foreman, 87, of Salem died Thursday.
An Illinois native, he lived in Hood River and moved to Salem in 1926. He owned and operated Kennedy’s Cleaners in Salem for 40 years, retiring in 1974. He had worked for Bill Hoffman Chevrolet in Molalla since 1979.
He belonged to the Elks and Phi Delta Theta fraternity at Oregon State University. His interests included sports and playing pinochle.
Survivors include wife, Kathryn E.; daughter, Judith Hoffman of Keizer; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held. Private interment will be in the Salem Pioneer Cemetery. Arrangements are by Virgil T. Golden mortuary. Contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 9320 S.W. Barbur Blvd., Suite 140, Portland 97219-5430 or the American Heart Association, Oregon Affiliate, 1425 N.E. Irving No. 100, Portland 97232-4201.
