OBITUARY: 

Alice Opal Carden, 87, of Salem, died Sunday. Born in Genoa, Wis., she was a longtime Salem resident and a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughter, Hazel Swearinger, Salem; and sons, James C. and Richard K., both of Salem, and Everrett.
Private memorial services were held. Arrangements were by Barrick mortuary.
