NOTES: JEFFERSON genealogy by Willard Espy: Willard Jay Jefferson md. October 15, 1878, Lavinia Maria Howland, born March 20, 1858 and had: Clifford Delos b. February 28, 1880, d. May 5, 1882; Raymond Clair b. November 24, 1883, Earl Rumwell b. October 6, 1889; Mabel Fay b. June 3, 1891; Bernice Leota b. July 18, 1893; Agnes Julia b. June 14, 1900; and Irene Viola b. October 3, 1903. One of Willard [and Lavina} sons was Chester Clyde Jefferson who was born October 6, 1888. He married Alice Elizabeth Morgan on Nov. 22, 1923. Chester inherited 27 acres of the land owned by his father and he and Alice farmed it and raised their three children there.

OBITUARY: Mrs. Levina Jefferson died at her home in Howell Prairie Nov. 27, 1926, at the age of 68 years. She was an old settler of that district, having lived there for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Willard Jefferson, three sons, Raymond, Earle, and Chester, of Howell Prairie, three daughter, Irene of Howell Prairie, Mrs. Agnes Wells of Portland, Mrs. Bernice Summers of Howell Prairie; also two brothers, John and Ed Hedges, of Oregon City; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Bell, of Union, and Mrs. Helen Newel, of Clackamas, and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 30th at 2 p.m. from the Webb chapel in Salem. Interment in the Salem I. O. O. F. cemetery.
