1942 Salem City Directory lists him as the apartment manager for the Henderson Apartments.

England); married to Freda, laborer, d. in Salem, Marion Co., on April 5, 1944, age 72 years, 7 months, 4 days'; resided/died: 330 S. 14th St., resident of Oregon 22 years in US 55 years; informant: Carl Cording of Portland, OR; burial on 7 Apr 1944 by Barrick in IOOF cemetery.
OBITUARY: 
George Esplin, at the residence, 330 South 14th street, April 5. Survived by wife, Mrs. Freda Esplin of Salem, sons, Charles Esplin of the US air force, Walter Esplin of the USMC, William and Donald Esplin of Portland, daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Harrison of Portland, sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Croker, Mrs. Jeane Morrison and Mrs. Jessie Hobus, all of Winnipeg, Canada. Five grandchildren also survive. Services will be held Friday Ap[ril 7, at 10 a.m., from the Clough-Barrick chapel with Rev. George H. Swift officiating. Interment in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
