Pacific Christian Advocate 29 March 1870 In Salem, March 16th, 1870, of consumption, Mrs. Sarah Esteline Coulter, wife of J. M. Coulter, after a painful illness of over 12 months, aged 42 years 4 months and 5 days. Deceased was the daughter of John H. and Jeriah Kinkaid, was born in Augusta county, Va., moved with her parents to Indiana, thence to Iowa in 1837; came to Oregon in 1859; has lived in Salem for the past ten years, where her death leaves her afflicted husband and five children to mourn their loss, but which is her eternal gain. She has passed over the river to join our four sweet babes that have gone before her, where we hope to be a re-united family at the end of this weary journey. She was a faithful, loving wife, and one of the best of mothers. Those that knew her longest loved her best.
