DEATH CERTIFICATE:
OBITUARY:
At the family residence, on Liberty street, at 9 a. m., Tuesday, April 4, 1893, from heart disease, Mrs. Dr. T. L. Golden, aged 42 years. Deceased had been ill but a few days and her ailment was not thought to be serious until the end came. Mrs. Golden was the daughter of W. T. Patton, and was born on March 1, 1851, at the family home on the donation land claim near Macleay. On February 18, 1869, she was married to Dr. T. L. Golden, of Salem, and had ever since made Salem her home. She leaves to mourn the death of a loving wife and mother, a husband and three children - Mrs. Lee Steiner, Thomas, and Anna. She leaves also, six brothers and two sisters: T. B., Frank, Charley, John, Jack A., and Robert, and Mrs. Jane Clymer, of Fossil, and Mrs. Kate Downing, of the Waldo hills. The sad news of Mrs. Golden's death, so sudden and unexpected, will be received as a shock by the friends of her girlhood and womanhood throughout Oregon and elsewhere. The deceased was a woman of deep sympathy and great charity, and many there are who will remember her neighborly kindnesses and disinterested well doing. She will be sadly missed and sincerely mourned. The funeral will be held at the Unitarian church, of which she was a constant member and in which a great worker, tomorrow (Thursday) at 10 a. m., thence to the Rural cemetery.
