OBITUARY: 
At the home of David Steiner on the Garden road, Friday, May 12, 1893, from a complication of diseases, John Schaller, aged 64 years. Deceased was the father of Mrs. Steiner and was a native of Switzerland. He leaves two daughters and one son - Mrs. Steiner, Mrs. Butler of the Waldo hills, and Iven Schaller of Willamina. The remains will be interred today at 2 p. m. in the I. O. O. F. cemetery. Daily Oregon Statesman 13 May 1893 4:4.
