LILLIAN LORENE MATTHEWS
July 31, 1887 - Dec. 23, 1989
MADRAS -- Lillian Lorene Matthews, 102, died Saturday in Madras. She was born in Cottage Grove, and lived in the Salem area as a child. She was a nurse at Eugene General Hospital, retiring in 1958. Her husband Ward died earlier. She was a member and district governor of the Mayflower Society, and was a descendant of William Bradford, John Alden and Priscilla Mullen.
Survivors include her granddaughter, Mary Skraznas of San Carlos, Calif., and nieces and nephews.
No services will be held at her request. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Pioneer Cemetery in Salem. Arrangements are by Madras Evergreen mortuary.
