OBITUARY:
BUDD--At the Salem hospital, Salem, O., November 3, 1913, D. C. Budd, aged 82 years, after a lingering illness of over two years. Mr. Budd was well known and respected at Hall's Ferry and vicinity, where he spent the biggest part of his life. He crossed the plains from Pike county, Ill., in 1852, by ox team and settled in Hall's Ferry, a few miles south of Salem. He was born in Ypsilanti, Mich., September 20, 1831. About two years ago Mr. Budd's health became so poor that he was brought to the Salem hospital by his sisters for medical treatment. As it did not improve, it was thought best to leave him at the hospital. The funeral services will be held from Rigdon & Richardson's chapel at 2 o'clock today. Rev. P. S. Knight will officiate and the burial will take place in the Odd Fellows' cemetery. Friends are invited to attend. Two sisters of the deceased, Mrs. Mary Jory and Mrs. Sarah A. Jory, live in Salem.
