OBITUARY: 
AUMSVILLE - Dorothy Schmidt, 85, died Sunday. 
She was born in Warsaw, Mo., and served in the Women's Army Corps during World War II. She moved to Salem in 1945 and worked in the Stayton Cannery for 23 years, retiring as floor supervisor in 1976. She moved to Aumsville in 1990. Her husband, Isaac, is deceased. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Bernt of Aumsville, sister, Nora Gress of Tonganoxie, Kan.; and two granchildren. 
Visiting will be 2 to 5 p.m. today in Virgil T. Golden Funeral Chapel in Salem. Memorial services will be 11 a.m Wednesday in the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Salem, where she was a charter member. Interment will be private. Contributions church memorial fund, PO Box 4350 Salem, OR 97302 or St. Mary's School, 1066 N. 6th, Stayton, OR 97383.
