DISCREPANCY - Esther was recorded in the buial register ffor this cemetery, by the cemetery sexton, James Plant, and $5.00 was paid for her plot.  However, she is noted as having been buried at the "Catholic Cemetery" in her obituary, below.  It seems that she is, in actual fact, buried at St. Barbara's Cemetery in Salem.  There is a marker found for her on Find-A-Grave, in their online burial list for St. Barbara's.

OBITUARY: 
BENOIT -- In Portland, July 8, 1914, Esther May Benoit, aged 11 years.  Funeral services will be held this morning at 8:30 o'clock at Sacred Heart church in Portland.  The burial will take place in the Catholic cemetery in Salem.  The funeral party will arrive in this city on the Oregon Electric train at 1 p.m. and go directly to Rigdon and Richardson's undertaking parlors where another service will be held.  Rev. A. A. Moore will officiate.
The parents of the deceased are known in Salem.  They are Mr. and Mrs. Adalord [Adelard]  Benoit of 836 East Twenty-ninth street, Portland.
