OBITUARY:

Charles Stuart Simms Jones passed at 32 years old on October 17, 2019 in Salem, Oregon. He was born on May 11, 1987 in Chula Vista, California. He was a resident of Salem, Oregon and had also lived in Washington. He went to school in Salem and attended Chemeketa Community College. His family called him Chucky, others may have known him by AKA Chucky, Chuck Deluxe, Chucky Purp, Teflon503, Meso and Mezo Rackz. Chucky always loved the water, rivers, lakes, creeks, ponds and anything to do with water. He especially loved going to North Fork and hiking the trails behind the waterfalls. As a child he would often walk to the pond with his friends to make fishing poles and they would fish for hours. His friends Casey and Ben were more like cousins and his best friend was Kevin who lived next door…Chucky and Cevin were always up to something, creative and high energy boys from building a tree house to making up games…as a child he loved the outdoors, comic books, ninja turtles, coloring and drawing. He was a loving little boy with a smile that melted your heart. He was thoughtful and caring. His favorite childhood book was “I’ll Always Love You,” it was a reminder of his dog Princess; his mother still has that book. As a teenager he was always on the go, either on adventures with friends or seeking out another one. His best friends were Kyle, Aaron and his sisters. His love for music started him writing lyrics and making beats. Chilling with his sisters was his quiet time. His artistic abilities grew and he also started tagging his masterpieces, his first one on the side of his family’s shed. He loved making people laugh. He was a jokester, he adopted his father’s ability to make jokes out of life’s experiences, and he always kept you laughing. A friend who was there if ever needed. He loved skateboarding and basketball. As an adult his family was his heart. He loved family time and couldn’t’ get enough of it. He also started writing poetry along with his song writing and making beats. His lyrics moved you because they had so much feeling in them that you could understand what he was going through and could relate to it, because of the emotion he put into it. He was protective over his sisters. If anyone ever needed him or needed help, he would try to be there regardless of his own struggles. He always reached out to let you know he loved you and cared. He always wanted the best for everyone, friend or foe. He went out of his way to help others and had great compassion for street kids and others who were struggling. He was a jokester/prankster as he loved to make others laugh and smile. His graffiti is known in Salem and elsewhere. He loved family unity, children, gatherings of friends and people, helping others, being in nature, animals and especially dogs. He had a big beautiful heart. He could make you laugh until your sides hurt. His smile was charismatic and his talents were many. He was an amazing son, brother, friend, talented artist and lyrical genius. Chucky’s funeral services will be open to all, family and friends. We are working on the details now to post as soon as we know. We do know that Chucky would want us to come together in love and smiles, sharing laughter, fond memories and funny stories. Please join us at that time if you can. Chucky is survived by his son, Xavier A Garcia (Zay Zay), his parents; Charles S Simms, Jacquelyn Lopez and Jose Lopez, grandmother Jeannie Warron, God Mother Patsy Ward, 4 sisters; Amanda, Jeanette, Katrina and Sharayah, 2 brothers; Donnie and Moshe, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
