Symes has received news of the death of his mother, Mrs. Gus Symes-Chandler, which occurred at Elgin, Tuesday. Mrs. Chandler is well known in Salem, and her death comes as a sudden shock to her numerous fiends in Marion county. Death was due to heart disease. Deceased was born in Rochester, N. Y., November 25, 1843.
