BIOGRAPHICAL: Toyotaro Furukawa lived at Rt. 8, Box 342 in Salem, OR.  He was a farmer and married to Sute.  He was born in Japan on Aug. 10, 1886 and entered the US in December of 1906. Others in his household were: Sute (wife) b. Japan, April 7, 1892; Shige (daughter) b. McCormick, Washington, Dec. 28, 1917; Masao (son) b. Winlock, Washington, Sept. 2, 1920; Nobuichi (son), b. Salem, Oregon, June 30, 1922; Peter, b. April 28, 1925 and Emi (daughter), b. Salem, Oregon Dec. 28, 1927.

OBITUARY: 

In this city, June 15, F. [sic] Furukawa, aged 46, late of route 8, a native of Japan. Survived by wife and six children.  Prayer services Thursday evening at 7:30. Friends are invited to attend the funeral services to be held Friday, June 17, at 1 p.m. from the Terwilliger Funeral home, 770 Chemeketa street. Interment in the Japanese lot, I.O.O.F. cemetery.
