IOOF - Mrs. Eliza Ann Dunbar, age 31 years, 6 months, 4 days, born in Tennessee, died in Marion Co., of consumption. OBITUARY:  Died, August 24th, 1869, Miss Eliza Jane [sic] Dunbar, in the nineteenth year of her age. She was of a meek and quiet spirit, modest and retiring in her manner. From her early childhood she lived a life of prayer. Three years before her death, she made a public profession of faith in Christ and united with the N. E. Church. Her last suffering, of some four months, with consumption, she bore with true Christian patience, only expressing regret that she should cause her friends (as she thought) so much trouble and care. From the time she was assured her sickness was unto death, she spent her strength and time in arranging for her departure; in earnest prayer with her Christian friends and pastor, she sought assurance of her acceptance with Christ. Finally her fears and doubts gave way to joy and praise. She summoned around her relatives and friends, giving to each her dying counsel, with some memento, to one a ring, to another an album, and to her youngest brother, her Bible. She gave directions concerning her funeral, selecting a hymn to be sung at her grave. Her last words of praise while dying, were "glory! glory! glory!  Many mourn her death, but it is with hope.         The young, the loved, the beautiful           Why must they pass away         Why must the flowers wither as well           [the rest of the poem is unreadable] W.
