BIOGRAPHICAL (Source - Karen Geiger-Cornelius): Ida Mary Cecil-Babcock (not to be confused with her sister Ada May) was born in Millersburg, Mercer Co., Illinois. Afton, Iowa is where her two children were born. Nellie b. 30 July 1880 and Harry Dow b. 11 Oct 1889. Nellie died after the birth of her only child, dau Aline Bhaer [Mrs. George William Geiger - named as the informant on Ida's DC], who was raised by Ida and Charles. Ida's parents are Kinsey Cecil and Sarah E Rainey. Both are buried in Iowa. OBITUARY:  BABCOCK--Died at Eugene May 22, Mrs. Ida Babcock, formerly of Salem. Remains will arrive at Salem in care of Terwilliger's funeral home today at 1 o'clock. Graveside services will be held at the IOOF cemetery at 1:30, Elder Jacobs officiating.
