OBITUARY: 
Ruth E. Ginn, 80, Astoria, a member of a pioneer Salem farming family, died Tuesday. Born in Machester, S.D., she came to Salem with her parents, Ashley and Ellen Aspenwall, in 1902. Her family operated the first loganberry farm in Oregon. She moved to Astoria in 1937, and operated a funeral home until 1947. She later ran a gift shop and then worked in the business office at St. Mary's hospital, Astoria, until retiring. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, Astoria, and Fern Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include her sons, F. Merrill, Astoria; Kenneth, Alhambra, Calif., and Robert, Sitka, Alaska; and sister, Helen Demarest, Salem. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in the First Methodist Church, Astoria. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Salem Pioneer Cemetery under direction of Caldwell's Luce-Layton mortuary, Astoria. The family suggests contributions to the memorial fund of Columbia Memorial Hospital, Astoria.
