OBITUARY: HALL - At the family home, corner of Summer and Center streets, at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 1903. Mary R., widow of the late Dr. C. H. Hall, age 66 years, 11 months and 15 days, of a complication of ailments.
The deceased was a native of New York, where she was born January 29, 1836. At the age of four years she came around Cape Horn with her parents and arrived in Oregon in June 1840. They settled on a donation land claim near Salem. Mrs. Hall was a survivor of the Whitman massacre, having resided at The Dalles at the time the missionaries were murdered.
In 1856 she was married to her deceased husband, Dr. C. H. Hall, and has resided here ever since. Dr. Hall died on September 13th, last.
The deceased leaves one daughter, Mrs. John H. McNary, of this city, a second daughter, Mrs. G. B. Gray, having died about two years ago. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Gertrude and Margaret Gray; one brother, O. A. Waller, of this city, and one sister, Mrs. C. C. Stratton, of Portland.
