S. [sic] Baker, age 59, died in Salem of pneumonia. OBITUARY:  OBITUARY -- At the Oregon house, at 2:15 a.m., Sunday, May 8, 1892, from pneumonia, Joseph E. Baker, aged 59 years. Deceased was proprietor of the Oregon House in this city. He leaves a wife and eight children. Mr. Baker came to Oregon several years ago from Pennsylvania and manufactured cigars here for a time. The funeral was held at the M.E. church yesterday afternoon at 2:30, the remains being interred in the Rural cemetery.  Oregon Statesman, 10 May 1892, 4:5.
