Aug. 1849 in Ohio (father b. New York and mother b. Connecticut) and a daughter Alma Barber, age 16 b. Dec. 1885 in California. OBITUARY:  At a local hospital, April 6, John D. Barber, aged 85 years. Survived by daughters, Mrs. A. L. Oglesbee of Siletz, Mrs. Viola Barrett of San Francisco; son, Ellsworth Hyatt of Battleground, Washington; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services from the Clough-Barrick chapel Saturday, April 8, at 10 a.m. with the Odd Fellows lodge and Rev. Guy L. Drill officiating.
