OBITUARY: 
J. A. Jefferson Rites Friday 
Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. in the Clough-Barrick chapel for John A. Jefferson, native of Oregon, who died Tuesday at the home of his daughter in Oswego at the age of 86 years. Concluding services will be held in the IOOF cemetery. Jefferson, onetime member of the Salem council, was born of a pioneer Oregon family in Salem, April 13, 1863. Hisd father and mother were the first couple to be married in the Portland Methodist church. Jefferson's wife, Emma J., died in 1917. Survivors are daughters, Mrs. Kate Fletcher Vent, Salem, and Mrs. Charles E. Austin, Oswego; son, William L. Jefferson, Newport; sister, Mrs. Hattie M. Lacey, Salem, and five grandchildren.
