Article:
She Resents Husband Remarks and Asks Divorce
"Too stuck up for anything," is one of the burning epithets which Catherine Barnhart accuses her husband, Noah Barnhart, of having hurled at her. He also told her she was too lazy to work, she says. She has resented these uncomplimentary little remarks by seeking a divorce, her suit being filed with the Circuit Court yesterday.
They were married in Portland July 9, 1906. Mrs. Barnhart says her husband is ignorant and illiterate, being neither able to read nor write. For some time he has been sullen, quarrelsome and vindictive, she adds, and has developed the habit of going away from home for weeks at a time. In the last six months he has made four unannounced departures, she says, and at present is away, his wife having no information as to his whereabouts or concerning his intention about returning. She wants her maiden names of Catherine Osborne restored. The couple has no children.
