Funeral Services for Mrs. Holton Will Be Held Monday Afternoon 
Mrs. Elizabeth Albert Holton 81 died Saturday afternoon at about 4 o’clock and will be buried here Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Rigdon & Son mortuary, with services in the IOOF cemetery. Rev. Norman R. Tally will officiate. 
Mrs. Holton was born in Cadiz, Ohio, on April 25, 1844, and was the older of five girls. She was a sister of the late John H. Albert, the eldest of the family of 11 children. The others in the family have all preceded her except George W. Albert of Lancing, Iowa; Mrs. Emma Albert Rowell of Portland, and T. G. Albert of Salem. Her husband, Rufus Holton, preceded her several years. 
Mrs. Holton came to Salem in the early 90’s For several years she was superintendent of the orphan’s home here, until it was closed, and later was matron at the Salem hospital. She was also connected with the Lewis and Clark and Oregon state fairs. For the past six years Mrs. Holton has been a patient at the Deaconess hospital, where she had been instrumental in furnishing several rooms. She had been a faithful member of the Presbyterian church since childhood.
