At the home of his mother, 1318 Belmont street, Seattle, Wash., Friday morning, Jan. 17, at 5 o’clock, W. W. Newton, of heart trouble superimposed by liver complaint. The deceased was a brother of Mrs. W. G. Downing, of this city, and besides his sister, leaves a younger brother, Cecil, his mother, and a wife and one son, aged 3 years. He was taken ill with liver complaint in Glasgow, Mont., where he has conducted a mercantile business for the past twenty years. From Glasgow, he was removed to Seattle, where it was hoped the lower altitude would prove beneficial to his health. He had been in Seattle about one week when he passed away peacefully. The remains will arrive in this city today, Sunday, Jan. 19, 1907 [sic], on the 11 a. m. train, and will be met at the station by the local Knights of Pythias and will be conducted to the Episcopal church, in this city, where the Rev. Barr G. Lee will preach the funeral sermon. After the services in the church, the Knight of Pythias will again take charge of the remains and will conduct the services at the Odd Fellows’ cemetery, where interment will take place.
