OBITUARY: 

James Monroe Beyerle, 75, of Newport died April 11 at Corvallis. He was born Feb. 5, 1909, in Dallas.
He was raised in Dallas. He owned and operated an 80 acre farm in Smithfield for many years. On Oct. 4, 1938, he married Jeannette Rowland in Vancouver, Washington.  After marriage, they moved to Dolph, where he began working for the Oregon State Highway Department and also farmed 180 acres. 
They moved to Ontario and later to Newport in 1954. He retired from the Highway Department in 1970. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Newport and the Odd Fellows Lodge of Newport. 
Survivors include his wife, Jeannette of Newport; son, James Michael Beyerle of Salem; daughter, Nancy Jean Burch of Newport; brothers, George Beyerle of Dallas and Dick Beyerle of Portland, and a sister, Ruth Johnson of Portland, along with three grandchildren.
Funeral services were April 14 at Salem Pioneer Cemetery with committal in Salem Pioneer Cemetery.
Arrangements were by DeMoss-Durdan Garden Chapel of Corvallis.
Donations to his memory may be given to the Organ Fund at the First Christian Church of Newport.
