DISCREPANCY - Birth year on death certificate shows 1833; marker shows 1834.
W. H. Adair, of Marion county, last season procured and planted a small quantity of amber can seed, and last week manufactured two gallons of heavy golden syrup as the result of his experiment. He claims as a further result to have demonstrated that 320 gallons of first-class syrup can be made from an acre of this cane grown upon his farm.

Adair--At McMinnville, at 5:30 p.m., August 7, 1912, William Henry Adair, aged 78 years. The funeral will be held upon the arrival of the 12:30 Salem, Falls City & Western train tomorrow. Rev. P. S. Knight will conduct the services and interment will be in I.O.O.F. cemetery. Mr. Adair had been in poor health for several weeks preceding his death and on Wednesday afternoon became ill about 2 o'clock, which illness lasted until his demise. He came to Oregon in the sixties and settled in Salem, living on the Garden road, where he was engaged in farming, later specializing in fruit raising.
The deceased is survived by a wife, Mrs. Catherine L. Adair, and by three daughters--Mrs. Edith Moulton, Mrs. Eva Heinz and Mrs. Inez Grenfel, all of McMinnville. Mrs. Elizabeth Adair, the widow of the deceased's youngest brother, is a resident of this city. During the illness preceding Mr. Adair's death, Miss Ella Welch of Salem attended him.
