Erwin J. Dauner, 45, of Monmouth died Feb. 19 in Monmouth.
He was born in Salem to Erwin and Gail Dauner.
Erwin attended school at Shangri La and in his early 20s he became a member and resident of the Ron Wilson Center. He had an enjoyable life and loved both his family and extended family at the center.
Throughout his life he was involved in Special Olympics, including representing Oregon at Notre Dame in the International Special Olympics in bowling. In 1998 Erwin was the Oregon State Representative for Special Olympics and his engaging smile and enthusiasm was seen in newspapers and Special Olympic billboards.
Other hobbies that he enjoyed included wrestling, sports, pens and writing. He was always ready to celebrate every holiday there was.
Erwin had a special way of bringing life to every room he entered and to every person he met.
Survivors include his father and mother, Erwin and Gail Dauner; sisters, Tammy Wellin, Michelle Young and Nikki Boe; nieces, Renee Wellin and Elizabeth Young; and nephews, Ryan and Matthew Boe.
Celebration of life gathering was held Feb. 22 at the Monmouth Senior Center.
