OBITUARY: 

Bert Brewer, 50, owner of "Miss Fashion Plate", died at a Salem hospital late Saturday night, death being due to pneumonia. He is survived by his widow, who was here with him at the fair. Brewer was born in Walla Walla, Wash., and was well known in race track circles in the northwest and along the coast. His horse, in charge of C. Matthews, was sent south Sunday to compete in events at Pomona, Calif. Brewer made his home at San Ysidro, Calif.
