OBITUARY: 
"AUNTIE" BROOKS DIES in SALEM
Mrs. Mazie (Auntie) Brooks, 87, well known Salem woman, died at her home, 1318 N. Commercial street, late last night. Funeral arrangement for the woman that has lived here for 56 years since her coming from Pennsylvania, will be announced by the W. T. Rigdon company. There are no known survivors. 
Born in Pennsylvania, Mrs. Brooks had traveled thoughout the United States and spent one year in Alaska. She spent a year in the east after the death of her husband in 1926. A member of the Independent Order of Good Temperance, "Auntie" Brooks held, at different times all the offices of that organization. An active worker in the first world war, she was not able to participate in war work during world war II. Annually she placed flowers on the world war monument in the courthouse square.
