Alderman, male, married (Mary J.), retired carpenter, b. 5 Feb 1848 in Missouri, d. 13 Feb 1930 in Salem, Oregon (2250 Maple), at the age of 82 y's 8 d's, names of parents not given by informant, interment 15 Feb, undertaker W.T. Rigdon & Son, informant Mrs. Mary J. Alderman of Salem.

OBITUARY: 

W. A. ALDERMAN IS CALLED BY DEATH
W. A. Alderman, father of Mrs. Jack Cutler of this city, died Thursday at the home, 2250 Maple avenue, at the advanced age of 82 years and eight days.  Mr. Alderman had lived in Salem 42 years, and was engaged much of that time in the carpenter trade.  He organized the first carpenters' union here years ago.
William A. Alderman was born in Republic City, Mo.  Although a young lad, he saw service in the Civil War, enlisting with the Colorado 1st cavalry.  He was a member of Sedgwick Post of the G. A. R. of Salem.
Besides his daughter and widow, Mary J. Alderman of Salem, he leaves a granddaughter, Doris Jean, and a brother, James F. Alderman of Salem route one.
Funeral services will be held at the Rigdon mortuary chapel Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock.  Rev. Harry E. Gardner officiating.  Members of Sedgwick Post G. A. R. will attend in a body to pay final respects to their comrade and will participate in the services.  Interment will be made in the I. O. O. F. cemetery.

William A. Alderman, 82, died at the residence, 2250 Maple, Feb. 13.  Survived by his widow Mary A., daughter, Mrs. J. L. Cutler of Salem, and brother James E. Alderman of Salem.  Funeral services 1 o'clock Saturday at the Rigdon mortuary, in charge of Rev. Harry E. Gardner and Sedgwick Post, G. A. R. Interment I.O.O.F. cemetery.
