Mrs Ethel H. Carter, 92, of 1515 SE Poplar Ave, a 60-year Portland resident, died Sunday at a local hospital. Born Dec 2, 1875, in Salem, Mrs Carter was the great granddaughter of Tabitha Brown, one of the founders of Pacific University. She was a Willamette University graduate and member of First Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs Jane C. Marble, and sons, William A. Jr and John H., all Portland. Funeral will be at 11:30 am Thursday at Finley’s Rose Chapel, with private interment in Sunset Hills Memorial Park.
