2nd MARRIAGE - John Aiken, over 30 & Jennie Suiter, over 30, m 17 Aug 1887 at house of Mr. Harding by H. A. Newell, M. G. Aff: John M. Payne. No witnesses listed #3384 pg 408" 
CENSUS: 1895 Census of Marion County shows: Aiken, J. W., b. PA, 5'4", 112#, light, housekeeper, Protestant, female, age 59 & Aiken, Grace, b. OR, 4'11", 80#, student, Protestant, female, age 15. PROBATE: Marion County Probate File #2208: Testate. Jennie Aiken, died March 9th, 1903. Will was written Jan. 9th, 1903. Grace E. Hockett was named Executrix Mar. 17th, 1903. Will states that her only heir is her daughter Grace E. Suiter. Petition indicates that Grace Suiter is now the wife of Clyde T. Hockett. W. T. Rigdon, undertaker.

RELIEF CAME ON YESTERDAY. 
Mrs. Jennie Aiken Gathered in by the Grim Reaper. 
After Long Siege of Suffering At Her Home On State Street - The Funeral Today. 
Mrs. Jennie Aiken, widow of the late John Aiken, died at her home on State and Cottage streets, in this city, yesterday morning, Wednesday, March 4th, aged nearly 55 years. Deceased was born in Mehoopany, Pennsylvania, April 12, 1848, and her maiden name was Jennie Whipple. She was married in 1863, to E. O. Suiter, who died in 1882. In August, 1887, she was married to John Aiken and has lived in Salem ever since, where Mr. Aiken died in August 1894. 
Mrs. Aiken was a most kind, benevolent and charitable lady and has been a devout Christian since early childhood, and was always prominently identified with any movement which had for it's object the benefit or uplifing of suffering and down-trodden humanity, and by her generous and affectionate disposition she was won a place in the hearts and minds of all who knew her that will never be effaced. 
Mrs. Aiken is survived by one daughter, Miss Grace Suiter, and has one brother living in San Francisco, whose wife and daughter are in the city attending the obsequies. Deceased was a niece of Hon. B. F. and E. J. Arding of French Prairie. She has been an honored and active member of Rebekah Lodge, No. 1, I. O. O. F., and this body will attend the funeral services, which are to be held at the residence at 2 o'clock this afternoon, in a body. The services will be conducted at the house by Rev. T. H. Henderson, after which the Rebekah Lodge will take charge of the remains and conduct them to the Odd Fellows Cemetery, where interment will be held. Funeral Notice. The members of Salem Rebekah Lodge No. 1, are requested to meet at their hall at 1 p.m. today (Thursday), to attend the funeral of the late Sister Jennie Aiken. By Order of the secretary.
