OBITUARY: 
At the Good Samaritan Hospital, Portland, July 24, C.N. Churchill, aged 70 years. Mr. Churchill lived in Salem previous to going to Portland about a year ago and is well known here. He was a brother of E.C. Churchill and Mrs. George F. Smith, of this city. At one time he was chief of the local fire department. The body will be brought to Salem Monday for burial but funeral arrangements have not been completed and will be announced later.

Churchill Funeral Held. 
The funeral of C.N. Churchill, ex-fire chief of Salem, who died Saturday in Portland, was held yesterday from the parlors of Webb & Clough. Rev. A.A. Winter officiated. Burial was in Odd Fellows cemetery.
