OBITUARY: 
FUNERAL HELD. FRIENDS LAMENT THE PASSING AWAY OF PIONEER - MRS. COLBATH LAID TO REST. The funeral of Mrs. Gabriella Hayden Colbath, one of Salem's pioneers, who died at her home on Saturday, January 4, 1913, was held yesterday at the family residence, 1444 Center street. Rev. P. S. Knight officiated, reading passages of scripture and commenting on them. Special music was furnished by Mrs. William Steiger, who sang a solo. 
The deceased was buried in the I. O. O. F. cemetery, by the side of her husband, Elijah J. Colbath, who died May 14, 1899. The pallbearers were John Gray, John G. Wright, G. L. Green, D. W. Gibson, Rev. Short and Stephen McFadden. The following resolutions of condolence were passed by the local carpenters and joiners union: "Inasmuch as it has pleased the all-wise creator to call from this world of action Mrs. Gabriella Hayden Colbath to the country beyond through the valley of death, where no traveler ever returns: "Therefore, Be it resolved that we, the members of local No. 1065 of Carpenters and Joiners of America, do hereby extend our deepest sympathy to our esteemed brother, E. B. Colbath, and family in this greatest hour of grief to them through the death of their mother. "Be it further resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be sent to Brother A. B. Colbath and family of the late Mrs. Colbath and copies given to the city press for publication. "Done by order of local No. 1965 of Carpenters and Joiners of America. "Chas. Carlton; "S.D. White, "Wm. Short, "Committee." Salem, Jan. 4, 1913.
