[sic - William Simpson] Matthews (b. Missouri), maiden name of mother Frances DeShane [sic - DeShazer] (b. Indiana), interment 24 Jan, undertaker Terwilliger, informant Mrs. Ollie Nelson of Salem.
[Note - descendant Mark Stein has clarified that the names of Elizabeth's parents were William Simpson Matthews and Frances DeShazer]

OBITUARY: Mrs. Elizabeth P. Collard, 67, died at her home at 438 S. 17th street. She is survived by a son, George, and a daughter, Mrs. Ollie Nelson, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Drager of Salem and Mrs. Thornton of Eugene, and four brothers; David Mathews of Salem, Charles of Roseburg, James of Tigh Valley, and John of Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held from Terwilliger parlors Monday, January 24, at 10:30 a. m. with Rev. Gillespie in charge. Interment in IOOF cemetery.
