OBITUARY:
Mrs. Katherine Ingles Anderson, who died at her home in the city at Fourteenth and Center street, Friday, January 26, 1912, was born in Louisville, KY, in 1843. With her parents she crossed the plains in 1843, locating at Oregon City, her father having the first mercantile establishment in that place. After residing in that city a short time, she removed to Portland, making her home there for a number of years. Her first marriage was to J. DeLetts and her second to C. F. Anderson, who survives her.
Two daughters, Mrs. Wigginton of Portland, and Mrs. L. Newman of Seattle, survive her and were at her bedside much of the time during her last illness, which was of about three monthsÂ’ duration.
C. F. Anderson, to whom she was married in 1905, has lived in this city for thirty years, and has retired from business. Mrs. Anderson during her entire lifetime was devoted to missionary work and only failing health compelled her to give it up.
The funeral will be held today at 10 oÂ’clock from the undertaking parlors of W. T. Rigdon, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Hammond, and interment will be made in I.O.O.F. cemetery. (Portland and Hillsboro papers please copy.)
