MARRIED -- CLARK -- CROISAN -- At the residence of the bride's mother, in East Salem, Mrs. Nancy Clark, Sunday, September 13, 1896, Miss Verbura J. Clark to Geo. H. Croisan, both of Salem. The ceremony was performed at 1 o'clock p.m. by Rev. P. S. Knight, in the presence of the family and a few friends, after which Mr. Croisan and his bride took the train for Portland and will probably go to 'Frisco. They will return and make their home in Salem. Mr. Croisan is one of our most highly respected citizens, and will be congratulated by hosts of friends upon his happy marriage. OBITUARY: 

Mrs. G. H. Croisan, 77, a native of Salem and a daughter of early Oregon pioneers, died suddenly on Saturday afternoon from a heart attack. She was born in this city March 3, 1863. Her parents were James C. and Nancy Clark who had crossed the plains in an early immigration. Her husband, George H. Croisan, prior to his death several years ago, was one of the oldest living native Oregonians. They made their home for many years on the original Croisan donation land claim on Croisan creek south of Salem. Mrs. Croisan was an early student at Sacred Heart academy. Surviving relatives include four children, George W. Croisan, Isobel C. McClelland, and John H. Croisan, all of Salem, and Charlette M. Rarey of Tacoma; a brother, James Clark, and a sister, Gabrielle Clarke, of Salem. The funeral will be held on Monday at 1:30 p.m. from the Clough-Barrick chapel, Rev. George H. Swift officiating.
