OBITUARY: 

JOSEPH LYTLE CUSTER
Joseph Lytle Custer was born in Jefferson county, Ohio, February 8, 1850 and died at the home of his niece, Mrs. H. A. Richmond, 1430 North Fourth street, Salem, Oregon, September 14, 1914, aged 64 years 7 months and 6 days.
He was the oldest of a family of nine children, seven of whom are still living, one brother, Norton, having died recently.
In 1872 he was married to Miss Sarah J. Carter, and to this union were born five children, three of whom died in childhood and one daughter, Gertrude, March 20, 1914.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Sarah J. Custer, he is survived by one son, James Custer, of Enright, Oregon; three brothers, John A. Custer, of Bergnolz, Ohio; Hoyt and Jesse Custer, of Eaton Rapids, Michigan, and four sister, Mrs. Mary Close and Mrs. Elizabeth Evans, of Wellsville, Ohio; Mrs. Martha Billman, of Alliance, Ohio, and Mrs. Sadie Custer of Bridgeport, Ill.
