OBITUARY: 
JOHN F. DAVIS, 80, SUCCUMBS John F. Davis, lifetime resident of Marion county, died in a local hospital Saturday night at the age of 80 years following a long illness. He was born in Scotts Mills in 1867 and had farmed in the Silverton area for several years before coming to Salem in 1909. While living here he was with the county assessor’s office and worked for the Oregon Pulp and Paper company for some time before his retirement nine years ago. He was the father of J. Harold Davis, Salem city engineer, and Ralph E. Davis, Redmond, Ore. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Clough-Barrick company and time of final rites will be announced later.
